Scleral Lens Training Meetings 2011

We continue to arrange our successful small scale meetings for Practitioners who wish to update their knowledge of sclerals lens fitting. These meetings normally take place at our Hertford premises. Our remaining meeting in 2011 will be a one day meeting on Saturday 19th November - after the MCLOSA meeting on Friday 18th November

New appointments to the Company

 

Professor Roger Buckley MA BM BCh FRCS FRCOphth HonFCOptom

 

Innovative Sclerals is delighted to confirm the appointment of Professor Buckley as a director of the company with immediate effect.

Professor Buckley trained in Medicine at Oxford University and St. Thomas’s Hospital, London, and has been associated with Moorfields Eye Hospital, London, for 30 years, successively as clinical assistant, research assistant, resident, consultant and Director of the Contact Lens and Prosthesis Department. He remains an Honorary Consultant Ophthalmologist.  Currently, he is Professor of Ocular Medicine at Anglia Ruskin University and continues to undertake clinical work at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge.

John Parker, director of Innovative Sclerals, said: “We are very pleased to welcome Roger, who is a recognised expert in the field of ophthalmology. We are sure he will make an excellent contribution to our research and development of scleral contact lenses in the future.”

 

 

Jennifer Smith BOptom (Hons) MCOptom, FBDO

 

Innovative Sclerals has appointed Jennifer Smith BOptom as Clinical Consultant with the company with immediate effect.

Jennifer’s role will be to visit interested practitioners, hold training sessions, offer advice regarding scleral lens fitting and provide an electronic customer support service for clients. Jennifer has been heavily involved in providing eye care overseas for several years, most recently in Peru, and is currently practicing at Moorfields Eye Hospital, Oxford Eye Hospital and Hertford Optometry & Contact Lens Practice.

Jennifer said: “This is a wonderful opportunity for me to develop and diversify my professional skills whilst bringing the use of scleral contact lenses to a wider audience with a pioneering speciality lens manufacturer like Innovative Sclerals.”
